Education and Career Development
Programs to improve a child’s reading, writing and arithmetic skills, as well as teach them how to maneuver their way around a computer. Career planning and goal setting are also objectives of this program.
Program Examples
Dell Foundation ClubTech:
Started in 2004, this program is designed to increase computer access and provide up-to-date technology centers, assuring Club members have the resources needed to succeed in the 21st century job market.
Power Hour/Project Learn (After School Homework Help):
Programs developed to engage youth in educational activities during non-school hours and provide incentives to Club members for positive academic participation and progress.
Career Track (Career Exploration):
Focused on Club members ages 13-18, the Career Track program helps youth learn assess their skills and interests, explore a variety of career opportunities that match their skills and interests, and make sound educational decisions to help prepare for their eventual entry into the work force.
Motivated By Arithmetic (Math Tutoring):
The goal of this program is improve the math skills of 150 Club members in the 2nd to 12th grades. This is done by teaching math fundamentals in weekly sessions, using small group instruction to help create a team learning experience.
READcess (Literacy Program)
READCess is a self-paced or book club activity grade specific involving literature that has received the Caldecott and Newbery award-winning children’s books.
